R.E.P.O. is a paid PC game that semiwork sells on Steam in Early Access. You may be able to play it without buying it through Steam Families, but for co-op with friends each player needs a copy. The card below leads to our price comparison, where some store links earn us a commission.

Does R.E.P.O. cost money?

Yes. R.E.P.O. is an online co-op horror game for up to six players by the studio semiwork, released on Steam on 26 February 2025. The team hunts for valuable, fully physics-based objects and has to handle them with care while carrying them out. It is a paid PC game, not free-to-play. Use authorized stores, verified promotions or Steam Families rather than unofficial download sites, which hand out unlicensed copies that may carry malware.

It is still in Early Access (Steam, 6 October 2026): you buy the game as it is today while the developer keeps working on it, so content and features can change before a full release.

Steam players rate it very highly (96 % of 425,251 reviews positive on 2 October 2026), and on that day 16,217 people were in the game at once.

Sharing within a Steam Family

R.E.P.O. carried Steam’s Family Sharing label on 6 October 2026. That lets someone in your Steam Family (Steam’s household feature) start the owner’s copy from the family library, keeping their own saves and achievements. The catch for a co-op game: one copy runs for one person at a time, so you and the owner cannot be in the same R.E.P.O. session on a single purchase. Confirm the game appears in your family library first.

Store giveaways

Stores sometimes give a game away for a limited time. Our free games page lists the games you can claim for free right now.

Reward apps

Some apps pay points for playing mobile games or completing tasks, and let you exchange the points for gift cards that can be spent on games. Which apps and offers you get depends on your device and country; collecting enough can take days or weeks; there is no guaranteed amount; and each app sets its own age limits and payout rules. You still buy the game, with credit you earned. We have no commercial relationship with any reward app.

How far R.E.P.O.’s price drops

R.E.P.O. is a young game, but it has already been discounted often. Across the stores we track, it sold below Steam’s list price in 10 of the last 12 months. Its deepest monthly low came in October 2026, at 35 % below today’s Steam list price. Each month’s low is on the R.E.P.O. price history, which goes back to its launch.

If the current offer is not low enough, our Steam sale dates show when the next big Steam sale begins.

Buying your own copy

We compare PC prices, and the card shows every store we currently track for R.E.P.O. with its current price and any discount. Steam sells a single edition, named R.E.P.O., so a discount always applies to the full game. For a group, remember that every player needs a copy: compare once, then each friend buys their own.

Can your PC handle R.E.P.O.?

R.E.P.O. is light: Steam lists 8 GB of RAM for both the minimum and the recommended setup, and 1 GB of storage. The full specs are on our R.E.P.O. system requirements page. On 6 October 2026, Steam listed English as its only language.

Questions

Can two friends play on one copy?

No. One family copy does not provide several simultaneous copies: each player joining the same co-op session needs access to a separate copy.

Can I play R.E.P.O. alone?

Yes. Steam lists single-player as well as online co-op, so a copy borrowed through Steam Families can still be played on your own.
