PEAK is a paid PC game, so every climber in your group needs access to a copy. Steam Families can cover a solo run on a relative's copy, and comparing stores keeps the cost of a group's copies down. The card below leads to our price comparison, where some store links earn us a commission.

Is PEAK free?

No. PEAK is a co-op climbing game from Team PEAK, released on 16 June 2025. You are one of a group of lost nature scouts stranded on a strange island, and the only way out is to climb the mountain in its middle, where one slip can end the attempt. You can go alone or with friends online. It is a paid game, and we compare its PC prices.

Ignore “free download” offers for it. They come from unofficial sites that share unlicensed copies, and those files are a known way to infect a computer with malware. Buy from authorized stores, use Steam Families, or wait for a verified store promotion.

Its Steam reputation is strong: on 2 October 2026, 94 % of 374,081 reviews were positive and 18,700 players were climbing at once.

Ways to cut the cost

Family Sharing and its limits for a group

PEAK was listed for Family Sharing in Steam’s store data on 6 October 2026. Under Steam’s household system, the owner’s copy shows up in the family library, and another member can launch it with their own progress and achievements while the licence stays with the buyer.

For a co-op game the important rule is one copy, one player at a time. A shared copy cannot join the owner’s climb, so if two family members want to rope up together, two copies are needed. A borrowed copy is fine for solo attempts or for climbing with friends who own their own. Check your family library before planning around it.

Store giveaways

If a store is giving a game away to keep, our free games page lists it while the offer is open, so that is the place to look.

Reward apps

Some apps pay points for playing mobile games or completing tasks, and let you exchange the points for gift cards that can be spent on games. Which apps and offers you get depends on your device and country; collecting enough can take days or weeks; there is no guaranteed amount; and each app sets its own age limits and payout rules. You still buy the game, with credit you earned. We have no commercial relationship with any reward app.

How far has PEAK’s price dropped?

For a game from mid-2025, PEAK has been discounted often. At the stores we track, it sold below Steam’s list price in 12 of the last 12 months. The deepest monthly low so far is this month, October 2026, at 64 % below today’s Steam list price. The PEAK price history shows its low for each month, which helps a group decide whether to buy now or wait; the Steam sale dates show when the next Steam sale begins.

Buying copies for a group

When a whole group needs the game, small savings per copy add up. The card shows every store we currently track, and the PEAK price page lists each offer with its store type; marketplaces that charge a checkout fee are marked. Steam sells PEAK as a single edition, so there is no deluxe tier to compare.

Running PEAK

PEAK is not demanding on storage: 4 GB. Steam lists 8 GB of RAM as the minimum and 16 GB as recommended, and it needs Windows; there is no Mac build. Processor and graphics minimums are on the PEAK system requirements page. On 6 October 2026 its Steam page listed full controller support and 15 languages, Ukrainian and Latin American Spanish included.
