BeamNG.drive is a paid PC game, still in Early Access on Steam. A household member's copy in Steam Families is one way to try it without buying, but first make sure your PC meets its high RAM requirement. The card below leads to our price comparison, where some store links earn us a commission.

What you pay for BeamNG.drive

BeamNG.drive is not free: you need to buy it. It is a vehicle simulator built on soft-body physics, flexible enough to handle almost any driving situation you set up. The studio BeamNG develops and publishes it, the ESRB rates it Everyone 10+, and its first release dates to 3 August 2013.

The soft-body simulator remains in Early Access (Steam, 6 October 2026). You are buying a game that is being worked on, and features can change as development goes on.

Unofficial pages that hand out BeamNG.drive for nothing are distributing cracked copies, and cracked installers are a classic way to get malware onto a PC. Buy from an authorized store, use a copy shared through Steam Families, or take part in a store promotion you can check.

On 2 October 2026 Steam counted 97 % positive out of 419,692 reviews, and 19,757 players were in the game that day.

Options that cost nothing

Borrowing the simulator inside a household

Steam’s data on 6 October 2026 showed a Family Sharing label on BeamNG.drive. Think of Steam Families as a shared shelf for a household: when one member owns the game, the others can install it from the family library and play with their own saves and achievements. Ownership never moves; the licence is the buyer’s.

A shared copy runs on one account at a time. Steam lists BeamNG.drive as single-player, so sharing it just means not playing at the same moment as the owner. Before you plan any crash tests, confirm it actually shows up in your family library.

Giveaways

Games that a store is handing out right now are listed on our free games page. That is the place to look, not a site promising a free key.

Reward apps

Some apps pay points for playing mobile games or completing tasks, and let you exchange the points for gift cards that can be spent on games. Which apps and offers you get depends on your device and country; collecting enough can take days or weeks; there is no guaranteed amount; and each app sets its own age limits and payout rules. You still buy the game, with credit you earned. We have no commercial relationship with any reward app.

Hardware comes first

This matters more for BeamNG.drive than for most games. Steam’s minimum is 16 GB of RAM and the recommendation is 32 GB, and the install needs 60 GB of storage. A cheap copy is no bargain if your machine can’t run the simulation smoothly, so compare your processor and graphics card with the BeamNG.drive system requirements first.

Shopping around for the licence

The card shows every store we currently track and points out which one lists BeamNG.drive for the least today. Steam sells a single edition, named simply BeamNG.drive, so every key you compare is for the same game.

What the price record says

Our record of BeamNG.drive’s prices covers more than two years. Its discounts tend to be modest: the deepest monthly low so far is this month, October 2026, at 20 % below today’s Steam list price. It sold below list at one of the stores we track in 7 of the last 12 months, so a reduction of some size turns up most months.

Each month’s low is on the BeamNG.drive price history chart, which helps you tell an ordinary offer from a good one.

Steam listed 13 languages for it on 6 October 2026, among them Japanese, Korean, Polish and both Portuguese variants.

Questions

Is BeamNG.drive finished?

No. Steam still listed it as Early Access on 6 October 2026, so the copy you buy keeps changing as BeamNG works on it.

Is a shared family copy enough to judge my hardware?

Yes, it runs on your own PC, so playing a family member's copy is a fair test of whether your machine handles the simulation before you buy.
