ELDEN RING is a paid game. You may be able to play a family member's copy through Steam Families, and buying at the right store at the right time is the realistic way to pay less. The card below leads to our price comparison, where some store links earn us a commission.

What ELDEN RING costs you

The full price, unless you find a discount. ELDEN RING is FromSoftware’s fantasy action RPG, in which you play one of the Tarnished in the Lands Between, published by FromSoftware and Bandai Namco Entertainment and first released on 25 February 2022. It is a paid game; a site offering it as a “free download” is distributing an unlicensed copy and a common malware risk. Use authorized stores, Steam Families or a verified promotion.

On 2 October 2026 it had 1,156,155 Steam reviews, 93 % of them positive, and 28,925 people were playing it on Steam that day. The ESRB rates it Mature.

Getting ELDEN RING without paying full price

Family Sharing is listed

Steam’s store data lists ELDEN RING for Family Sharing (6 October 2026). A household member who owns it can make it available in your Steam Family library, and your progress and achievements stay your own. It remains their purchase, and a single copy cannot be played by two family members at once, so online co-op or PvP between you still needs two copies. Make sure it shows up in the family library before you plan around it.

Store giveaways

Stores sometimes give a game away for a limited time. Our free games page lists the games you can claim for free right now.

Reward apps

Some apps pay points for playing mobile games or completing tasks, and let you exchange the points for gift cards that can be spent on games. Which apps and offers you get depends on your device and country; collecting enough can take days or weeks; there is no guaranteed amount; and each app sets its own age limits and payout rules. You still buy the game, with credit you earned. We have no commercial relationship with any reward app.

For a full-price game like ELDEN RING, that balance is large; treat a reward app as a way to cover part of the price, not all of it.

ELDEN RING’s price over time

Paying full price for ELDEN RING has rarely been necessary. Across the stores we track, it sold below Steam’s list price in 12 of the last 12 months. The deepest monthly low so far came in July 2025: 50 % below today’s Steam list price. The ELDEN RING price history covers more than two years, month by month, and our Steam sale dates show when the next big Steam sale starts.

Comparing PC stores

  • Region. A Steam key only activates in the regions its store allows; our offer table shows the region when stores differ.
  • Fees. Some of the stores are marketplaces whose checkout adds a service fee; the ELDEN RING price page labels each one.
