Which Phasmophobia platforms can play together?

Phasmophobia supports crossplay among every platform on which Kinetic Games currently lists the game: PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation VR2 and Xbox Series X|S. A group can therefore combine PC and console players in the same online investigation instead of requiring everyone to use one system.

The shared lobby supports Phasmophobia’s core four-player investigation structure. Each investigator can carry ghost-hunting equipment, gather evidence and communicate with the same team even when the players use different supported platforms.

How to join a cross-platform lobby

Crossplay uses Phasmophobia’s existing private-lobby system rather than a separate cross-platform account. The host creates the room, then the other investigators enter its code from the same server region.

1. Open Options, select Game, and set Crossplay to On.
2. Confirm that every player has installed the latest Phasmophobia update.
3. Have one player create a private multiplayer lobby.
4. Set every player to the same region as the host, such as EU or US.
5. Share the private lobby code with the other players.
6. Enter the code and join the room before starting the contract.

What cross platform does not include

Cross platform in Phasmophobia means that different supported systems can share a multiplayer session. It does not mean that one purchase, save or platform profile becomes available everywhere.

This distinction matters if you alternate between a PC and a console. You can still join friends across those systems, but changing your own platform means using its separate progression rather than continuing the same levels and equipment.

Does Phasmophobia have cross progression or cross-save?

Phasmophobia does not support cross progression as of 14 October 2026. Kinetic Games states that the feature is not currently available and that any future change will be announced publicly.

Without cross progression, activity on PC does not update a PlayStation or Xbox profile. Your ability to join a mixed-platform team is separate from the levels and equipment attached to the platform on which you are playing.

Cross-save and crossplay solve different problems. Crossplay connects people during a contract, while cross-save would move or synchronize the player’s saved progress; Phasmophobia currently provides the first function but not the second. Why a crossplay lobby may not work

A failed connection does not necessarily mean that a PC and console combination is unsupported. Kinetic Games identifies four settings to check when a private game cannot be found or joined.

1. Crossplay is off: Open Options > Game and turn the Crossplay setting on.
2. The regions differ: Match the host’s region before entering the lobby code.
3. The code is wrong: Recheck every character or have the host create and share a new private room.
4. A game version is outdated: Install the latest update on every participating platform, then retry the lobby.

Work through those checks in order because each one can block the same join attempt. If the code still fails after the settings and versions match, recreating the private lobby gives the group a fresh code without changing its platform combination.

What crossplay changes during an investigation

Crossplay expands who can fill Phasmophobia’s four investigator slots, not the purpose of the contract. A mixed PC-and-console group still enters a haunted location, uses equipment to collect paranormal evidence and identifies the ghost while managing the threat of a hunt.

The important planning limit is group size. Because Phasmophobia remains a four-player online co-op game, a fifth friend cannot enter the same contract even if every person uses a supported platform. Groups larger than four need separate lobbies or must rotate players between investigations.
