Is Marvel Rivals Cross-Platform Across PC and Console?
Learn how Marvel Rivals crossplay, supported platforms, competitive matchmaking, cross-progression, and account linking work.
Yes, Marvel Rivals is cross-platform across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, with an important restriction: PC and console players do not share Competitive matchmaking. As of 14 October 2026, cross-progression also lets linked accounts use one primary character across supported platforms, although device-specific ranks and battle records remain separate.
Which platforms support Marvel Rivals crossplay?
Marvel Rivals supports cross-platform matchmaking on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X|S as of 14 October 2026. NetEase Games launched the 6v6 team-based shooter on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, then added PlayStation 4 on 12 September 2025.
| Platform | Cross-platform matchmaking | Cross-progression account linking |
|---|---|---|
| PC | Yes | Yes |
| PlayStation 5 | Yes | Yes |
| PlayStation 4 | Yes | Yes |
| Xbox Series X | S | Yes |
PC account linking covers Epic, Steam, and Loading Bay, while the console options are PlayStation and Xbox. The PlayStation 4 version targets 1080p at 30 FPS, while PlayStation 4 Pro targets 1440p at 60 FPS, so crossplay does not mean every device delivers the same technical performance.
How crossplay works in casual and Competitive modes
Cross-platform matchmaking lets friends on supported PC and console systems enter shared matches outside the platform-divided Competitive structure. That makes crossplay useful for groups split between a gaming PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, especially when they want to practise heroes, coordinate Team-Up skills, or learn destructible maps together through the systems covered in the Marvel Rivals beginner guide.
Competitive mode applies the main limitation. NetEase Games’ official matchmaking guidance states that Competitive does not match PC users with console users, so a mixed PC-console party must use a mode that permits the combined cross-platform pool instead of entering Competitive together.
| Party or queue | Can play together? | Practical effect |
|---|---|---|
| PC and console outside Competitive | Yes | Friends can form a cross-platform group on supported systems. |
| PC and console in Competitive | No | The party must split by device pool to enter Competitive. |
| Players within the same device pool | Yes | Their rank and battle data are tracked for that device. |
Does Marvel Rivals have cross-progression?
Yes. Full cross-progression account linking became available with the Season 5 update on 14 November 2025. The system links multiple platform accounts, then lets you select a primary character that becomes accessible when signing in through any linked account.
The primary character carries its progress, collections, and associated content between supported accounts. Existing characters on the other accounts are not deleted, but only the selected primary character is used across the linked platforms until you switch the selection.
Cross-progression does not combine every competitive record. PC, PlayStation, and Xbox battle data, rank, and leaderboard positions remain separate under Career because matchmaking records are stored by device. This separation also matters when following the competitive scene through the Marvel Rivals esports guide, since moving the same character to another device does not transfer that device’s rank.
How account linking works
Account linking is managed from Settings → Other → Account Linking. Link the platform accounts you want to use, then choose the character that should act as the primary character across Epic, Steam, Loading Bay, PlayStation, and Xbox.
If several linked accounts already have characters, the unselected characters remain attached to their original accounts. You can change the primary character or unlink an account from the same settings area, but both actions are controlled by cooldown periods designed to prevent frequent switching and account-trading problems.
PlayStation linking requires extra attention to the account already signed in on the official PlayStation website. The linking process can automatically use that active PlayStation account, so verify it before authorizing the connection rather than binding the wrong profile.
What does not transfer between platforms?
Competitive battle data does not transfer as one universal record. A linked primary character can be used across devices, but PC, PlayStation, and Xbox each keep independent rank and leaderboard information, meaning progress on one device does not raise the Competitive position shown for another.
Crossplay and cross-progression also solve different problems. Crossplay determines who can enter the same match, while cross-progression determines which linked character and collections you can access after changing devices. The Marvel Rivals Battle Pass guide covers the separate seasonal progression system, which should not be confused with device-specific Competitive rank.
Can you switch platforms without starting over?
Yes, provided the relevant Epic, Steam, Loading Bay, PlayStation, or Xbox accounts are linked and the character you want is selected as primary. That arrangement preserves access to the same character progress instead of forcing a new character whenever you move between supported systems.
You may still see different Competitive results after switching because each device maintains its own battle data, rank, and leaderboard position. For a group moving together, the other practical constraint is queue choice: cross-platform friends spanning PC and console can meet through supported crossplay matchmaking, but they cannot enter the same Competitive pool.
Questions
Is Marvel Rivals cross-platform between PC and console?
Yes. PC, PlayStation, and Xbox players can use cross-platform matchmaking, but competitive matches separate PC users from console users.
Does Marvel Rivals have cross-progression?

Can PS4 and PS5 players play Marvel Rivals together?
Yes. Marvel Rivals is available on both PS4 and PS5, and its cross-platform matchmaking supports console players across supported systems.
Can PC and console players play Competitive together?

Which accounts support Marvel Rivals cross-progression?
